WORLD JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

I. INVITATION

 

The International Chess Federation (FIDE), the Confederation of Chess for America (CCA), the Argentina Chess Federation and the Mar del Plata Chess Federation, have the honour to invite all the FIDE National Chess Federations around the world to participate in the World Junior Chess Championship 2009, which will take place in City of Mar del Plata, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 21 October  (arrival) to 4 November  2009 (departure).

II. GENERAL CONDITIONS

PARTICIPANTS

Age Limit

According to FIDE regulations, only those born on or after 1st January 1989 are eligible to participate in the Championships.

The players placed 1-3 in the previous Championships and the champions of Continental Junior Championships, and the top 6 players from the International rating list for men (and top four for women) have the personal right to participate in the tournament, if they fulfil the condition described above, as well as the present World Boys (Girls) – 18 and 16 champions.

In addition to the players mentioned above, each affiliated federation has the right to send one representative in the juniors and one representative in the girls-20 championships. The organizing federation will have a second place in the tournament, and will hold a player in reserve to make an even number of participants, if necessary.

Any Federation can register additional players as well.

An identity photo 2x3 cm should be sent for the badge of the players, coaches and accompanying persons. Otherwise the photo can be taken on arrival (€ 3 each).

Swiss System: 13 rounds

Rate of Play: 40 moves in 90 minutes followed by 30 minutes until the end of the game and an incremental time of 30 seconds per move from move 1. The games will be played using the electronic clocks.

 

III. Board and Lodging.

 

Official Player: According to FIDE regulations a 70€ entry fee is required for each player, except defending champion

 

Additional Player: In accordance with the FIDE regulations, an entrance fee of 140 € (Euros).


All players (including invited players), delegates and accompanying persons must pay to the organizing comittee the amount of 100 Euro in advance. The 100 Euro are equal to the transportation, identification badges and registration cost.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION

21 September 2009, As soon as the payment transfer is confirmed, the Organisers will send to the participating Federation the confirmation of the hotel reservations. All guest players should make their application by the above deadline. After this date no guest player application will be accepted and their application will be treated as if they were an additional player.

The registration must include the Federation, FIDE ID, surname, first name, international rating and FIDE title and the passport details of every player and every accompanying person. It must also include the name, details and phone number/ address/ fax/ email of the head of the delegation. An identity photo (2x3 cm) must also be sent for each player (guest, additional or qualified) and each accompanying person by 21 September 2009 at the official mail ajedrezfedarg@hotmail.com 

Airport Tax: All persons must pay an airport tax on departure from Argentina. EU 20.-

IV PAIRING

 
Before the first round a listing of all the participants with its respective date of birth will be published.  
The pairing will be published in the Official Page: www.ajedrez.com.ar, as soon as possible, 
after finished the last game of each round.
 
In addition, the pairing will be published in the Official Hotels.
 
 
V ACCOMMODATION


All participants including parents, coaches and accompanying persons are obliged to stay in official hotels.
